30 days in as Principal Talent Partner at Almedia and the pace has been exactly what you would expect from a business scaling at this level

Joining a bootstrapped company recognised as one of Europe’s fastest-growing businesses brings a different kind of energy. There is very little separation between planning and execution, and that shows up immediately in how teams operate, how decisions are made and how quickly things move. It creates an environment where you feel the pace from day one, but in a way that is aligned and purposeful rather than reactive

What has stood out most is how connected the business feels. Collaboration is not limited to the talent team, it extends across hiring managers and leadership in a way that keeps hiring closely tied to what the business is actually trying to deliver. That level of alignment changes the quality of conversations early, because expectations, priorities and timelines are clearer from the start

The onboarding experience reinforced that. Time spent with the leadership team was focused on understanding where the business is heading, how growth is being approached and what hiring needs to enable over the coming months. That context shapes how roles are defined and how hiring is approached, because it connects activity back to outcomes rather than treating it as a standalone process

One of the more unexpected parts of the first 30 days has been the quality of candidate engagement. There is a clear pull towards Almedia in the market at the moment, with candidates coming into conversations already informed and already interested. That changes the dynamic significantly. Instead of spending time building initial interest, conversations can focus on alignment, expectations and what success looks like within the role and the wider business

Those conversations have been some of the most engaging, because they are grounded in genuine curiosity rather than early-stage persuasion. It creates a stronger starting point for both sides and allows the process to move with more clarity and intent

Thirty days in, the pace is high, the expectations are clear and the connection between hiring and business performance is visible in how the organisation operates day to day. It sets a strong foundation for what comes next and reinforces the importance of keeping hiring closely aligned to growth as the business continues to scale

The next phase will be about building on that momentum, maintaining consistency as demand increases and continuing to ensure that hiring supports the direction the business is moving in
